Made with an ultra traditional approach and bottled unfiltered and unfined like all Charlie Herring wines.
This, our second release is more muscular and traditional than the inaugural 2006, and a little more forward. Only 270 bottles produced.
Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from a small 30-35 year old vineyard was combined with a little Merlot and matured for 19 months in French oak barrels to give a concentrated, complex and rich wine.
An excellent bottling from Jacques Borman with a small component of barrel fermented Chardonnay lending complexity and weight without dominating - the result is delicious.
